In a recent development, the directors of Venky Mama replaced Rakul Singh Preet with Raashi Khanna. The actress happened to sign another film opposite Naga Chaitanya’s father, Nagarjuna, while she had already signed to play the female lead opposite Chaitanya in Venky Mama.
This anomaly clearly wasn’t working out for its makers. Also, the makers believe that Rakul’s expected remuneration was too high for the role she was going to play in Venky Mama.

According to our source, however, Rakul is very happy that the makers chose to replace her. In giving in to her fans and critics who complained that she wasn’t doing enough Telugu films, she signed to act in Venky Mama. The project, unfortunately, got delayed due to several reasons.
Moreover, her role in Venky Mama was going to be a really short role, which would beat her purpose of making a potent comeback.
Whatever be the reasons, Rakul is quite relieved to not be associated with Venky Mama . She clearly prefers the new script and a better role opposite Nagarjuna over Venky Mama. “Rakul prefers doing Nagarjuna’s film (Manmadhudu 2) as the director Rahul Ravindran has portrayed her role in it quite beautifully,” says a source.
