Tapsee's decision to move to B-town worked wonders?

With actress Tapsee Pannu upcoming Hindi film ‘Dunki’ slated for release in Telugu states, the actress has made her mark in Tollywood before moving to Bollywood. “Actually, Tapsee made her debut in Telugu with ‘Jummandi Naadam’ and had some good films in her kitty,’ says a source. He claims that the talented actress worked with stars like Prabhas (Mr Perfect) and Ravi Teja (Veera) and also played a village belle role in ‘Gundelo Godari’. “She did both glam centric and performance-driven roles in Telugu movies and became a household name among Telugu viewers,” he adds.

With few flops like 'Vastadu Naa Raju' and ‘Mogudu’, the actress began to pick more Hindi films and moved to Mumbai. ‘Once she used to stay at actress Lakshmi Manchu’s house as they were great buddies,'' he informs. However, success was eluding her in Telugu with further duds like ‘Dharuvu’ and ‘Shadow’ and she parked herself in Bollywood. “She did great movies like ‘Baby’, ‘Pink’ and ‘The Ghazi Attack’ to showcase her acting versatility. She proved to be an action queen with her hard-hitting film ‘Naam Shabana’ and game for all kinds of roles,” he points out.

Inbetween, she was seen in Tamil dubbed film ‘Ganga’ wherein she played a ghost and it turned out to be a big hit. “She tasted success with her comic-driven role in Telugu film ‘Anando Brahma’. She played a friendly ghost and it was a money spinner and her talent was noted,” he adds. She also showcased her dark side in Telugu film ‘Neevevaro’ but Bollywood filmmakers spotted her talent and exploited to the hilt. "She has to match strides with Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Dunki’ and she is doing a realistic role. Her decision to move to Bollywood was wise and successful too,” he concludes.
