Devil Explores A Novel Idea

Kalyanram's unique character has upped expectations

Kalyanram is constantly looking to experiment with roles. After the blockbuster success of Bimbisara last year, his upcoming period drama Devil has generated huge expectations. The fact that Kalyanram plays a British secret agent adds to the buzz. Director-producer Abhishek Nama says “He plays a British secret agent who cracks a mysterious case. His character design is gripping.”

After Salaar and Dunki, Devil is the most looked-forward to film. After the posters and songs, the recently released impressive trailer boosted expectations to a new level. “What worked in our favour is Kalyanram’s never-seen-before dimension in the film. No one has explored how a spy looks and behaves during the British rule. Exploring such a novel point in Devil raised curiosity levels,” the director said.

Devil, who works as a secret agent for the British, revolts against the then British Government. “There’s a strong reason for this change, and one must experience it on the big screen,” says Abhishek, adding that the film reflects the 1940s era.
