Director Mahi V. Raghav is coming up with the biopic Yatra, the marathon walk of late Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy. The shooting is complete and the film is ready to hit the screens, but the makers are looking for a good date. Initially, they planned to release it on December 21, but two other films were releasing on the same date, so they did not want to compete with them, as their film’s genre was different. Next they planned to release it for Sankranti along with the NTR biopic’s first part. But along with this film, two other big films were also being released, so the makers were nervous. The new date is February 9, a day after NTR biopic’s second part, Mahanayakudu. The second part of the NTR biopic is mostly NTR’s political life and Yatra is the political journey of YSR. “So, the makers of Yatra feel that both the films fall in the same genre and will give the same result,” says a source. The director and producer of Yatra recently met Y.S. Jagan and showed him the teaser of the film.
