Samantha won't play Savitri

Confusion surrounding actress Samantha’s appearance in the biopic of Mahanati Savitri has been cleared. Initially, the buzz was that she’d be playing the legendary actress in the movie but later, it was rumoured that she was not a part of the film and wouldn’t be playing the actress. Turns out both the versions are partially true.

“Samantha is a part of the film but won’t be playing the protagonist. Instead, she’s going to be the voice of the film and the whole story will be narrated from her perspective,” shares a source. To be helmed by Yevade Subramanyam director Nag Ashwin, not much has been made official about the film yet. In fact, a search is on for an actress to play Savitri.
