More surprises are in store for fans and followers of upcoming film Mahanati, a biopic on the life of yesteryear actress Savitri, which is being directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by Swapna Dutt. A special set from the film Mayabazar has been erected as the legendary actress is popular for the old classic.”
“It’s an epic moment for us as Mayabazar was one of the best films in Indian cinema and we are shooting the scenes of the same film right now,” says Swapna Dutt, adding that Keerthy Suresh also looks beautiful as Savitri.
The makers have roped in directors Krish Jagarlamudi (Krish) and Tarun Bhaskar to play the roles of K.V. Reddy (the director of Mayabazar) and Singeetam Srinivasa Rao (who worked as the assistant director for the same film). The shooting of Mayabazar began in 1956, so the same ambience has been created and the two directors have been roped in keeping in mind the characters and their real-life looks too,” says Swapna.
