Payal Rajput is all excited to sign her first Telugu film after the pandemic’s second wave. She’ll be seen in the thriller Kirathaka, opposite Aadi Pudipeddi, which is to be directed by Veerabhadram Chowdary.
“I got a great character to play, plus the script too was intriguing,” Payal says in replies to queries about the role. Despite always preferring content-driven films, Payal was initially hesitant to sign Kirathaka, owing to her apprehension of the film’s genre (thriller).
“But after I heard the script, I felt it was very entertaining; the edge-of-the-seat screenplay will be the highlight. My layered character and the emotions in the film makes for a great connection,” the RX 100 star elucidates, adding that she’s very excited to shoot for a thriller genre film.
While she is set to commence shooting from next month in Hyderabad, the Venky Mama actress is still recovering from a personal loss — of losing her aunt (her beau Saurabh Dhingra's mother) — and has been spending a lot of time with helpful friends and traveling extensively to overcome the pain.
“I have been going through difficult times. While dealing with such a painful situation has been tough, I’m trying hard to overcome the loss. I am dying to get back to the sets as early as possible and get busy with work,” she adds.
“I’m learning to move on, or we’ll get depressed,” she says, signing off.
