Actress Aishwarya Rajesh will play the role of a cricketer in her forthcoming film, Kousalya Krishnamurthy. Captioned The Cricketer, the film showcases the story of a youngster who grows up to be a sporting champion living through poverty, discrimination and worse. Starring Rajendra Prasad in a supporting role, the village-based sports drama has Kollywood star Sivakarthikeyan in a special role.
There is much anticipation on how filmmakers will portray the village life and tell the story of Kousalya’s rise convincingly. However, in a teaser shot a couple of days ago, megastar Chiranjeevi expressed his happiness over the way the film was shot.
“The film is a story of grit and determination. Also, the film not only showcases the cricketer’s life but also a beautiful and emotional relationship between a father and a daughter. I’m sure the audience will be glued to the arresting screenplay,” Chiranjeevi had said.
Produced by K. A. Vallabha and presented by K. S. Rama Rao, the film is directed by Bhimaneni Srinivas Rao.
