In what could be a significant merger of two of the biggest film families of Andhra, producer Allu Arvind has offered Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu a film. This collaborative move, so far only whispered about, has now been confirmed by a source close to the development.
The source reveals, “The producer recently met Mahesh Babu and expressed his desire to join hands with him for a project. The superstar also responded in a very positive manner, but details of the project are as yet undecided, especially since they met only once.”
However, what everyone wants to know is why Allu Arvind would want to work with Mahesh Babu when he has a star, son Allu Arjun at home? Especially since Allu Aravind generally produces most of his big films with his sons and the Mega actors.
The source explains, “There’s something unpleasant brewing within Allu Arvind’s family. There are ruptures, fissures and differences between them. Allu Arvind wants to let his family know that he can work successfully with a superstar outside the family fold.”
Meanwhile, Mahesh Babu’s response to the unexpected offer is apparently non-committal. Adds the source, “Mahesh Babu is the last person who would get into Allu Arvind’s family politics. He has been approached with an offer. But no script, nothing concrete. If he likes the subject, he will consider it.”
The superstar is presently shooting for his film with Vamshi Paidipalli at Dehradun, following which he has films lined up with directors like Sukumar and Sandeep Vanga. He is also slated to do a film with S.S. Rajamouli.
