No qualms about doing special songs: Apsara Rani
Apsara Rani’s special number Pepsi Aunty in the upcoming film Seetimaarr, directed by Sampath Nandi, seems to be gaining a lot of traction. Her stunning dance moves, and the peppy tunes and lyrics have worked magic among the masses.
Apsara is glad that audiences are loving the song. “And the best part is that it’s a solo number, so it gave me an opportunity to flaunt my dance skills,” she says, adding that the groovy number has several close-up shots that show her expressions.
“I love the concept of the song, costumes and the way I look. When I took up the song I was confident that it would do well,” the actress adds. And now, apparently, she is becoming the go-to girl for special numbers. Does she have any qualms about that, we ask.
“Absolutely, no! I love grooving, especially for independent numbers like special songs since they are not part of the narrative. It’s like doing a music video. And thankfully it’s working for me,” Apsara says.
“Going through a film script, learning the role, putting up a convincing performance – it’s a huge exercise. But all this is not required when featuring in a special song. I can quickly wrap it up,” she adds.
Born and raised in Dehradun, Apsara now lives in Bengaluru. “My father works in the Indian Air Force, and that’s where he is posted now. But I keep shuttling among Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Mumbai for work,” she signs off.
