Pawan to revive earnings?

Theatre owners in TS and AP have high hopes for Katamarayudu.

In the last three weeks, nearly 16 small Telugu films were released, but except for one or two, none of them made it big at the box-office. All the theatres in both the states are dull as people are mostly busy preparing their kids for the exams.

Most of the theatres are now looking at the big film Katamarayudu that is releasing on March 24. “We opened the advance booking and 80 per cent of the shows are completely full. We didn’t expect these openings on the first day of the advance booking,” says Sunil Narang of Asian Multiplex.

The makers of the film recently held a pre-release function, where they released the trailer of the movie. The film is a remake of Tamil film Veeram, which the actor thought is a safe bet. “We changed the story a bit to suit our Telugu nativity. I never played an elder brother, but in this film, I am playing one,” said Pawan Kalyan at the pre-release function. Siva Balaji, Chaitanya Krishna, Kama Raju and Ajay are playing his brothers and one can expect PK’s signature punchy dialogues in it.
