Expectations were sky-high when when Karthi and Nagarjuna teamed up for the first time for a bilingual — which is also said to be the remake of the cult French film The Intouchables, which starred Francois Cluzet and Omar Sy.
And Thozha (Oopiri in Telugu) didn’t let the fans down as the 50-second teaser, which was released on February 20, has been receiving resounding response both from both critics and fans. Karthi plays the role of a happy-go-lucky guy while Nagarjuna is a physically-challenged but a charming person. The teaser also stands up to the tagline of ‘A colourful celebration of life’, as P.S. Vinod’s cinematography is refreshing and extravagant. The movie is said to be a feel-good entertainer with an underlying layer of emotion. The film also has an impressive cast including experienced actors such as Tamannaah, Prakash Raj, Vivek, Jayasudha and others.
Tollywood director Vamshi Paidipally helms the project and Gopi Sunder is the music composer. The audio and the trailer are expected to be launched later this month, while the movie is slated for a summer release.
