KCR's life and leadership on big screen
Telugu director Madhura Sreedhar wants to make a film on Chief Minister of Telangana, K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s life. “It’s not a biopic as I am not going to cover any personal issues faced by KCR; I am focussing on the challenges he faced when he led the Telangana movement. It is a political drama,” says Sreedhar.
The director wants to start the film only after doing proper research. “We want to start the shoot on June 2, 2017,” he says, which happens to be the Telangana Formation Day. Raj Kandukuri is the producer and they are planning to release it on February 17, 2018, on the occasion of KCR’s birthday.
Madhura Sreedhar’s father, Tirupathi Reddy is an economics professor in Osmania University. “My father participated in the Telangana movement in 1969 and used to tell me tales of that movement.
Those stories inspired me to make a film. People say different things about KCR but in the end, he simply went ahead with his movement and reached the goal.
Today, he has become a great leader and made the dream of four crore Telangana people come true,” says Sreedhar. It is estimated that the film may cost nearly Rs 8 crore. “It is too early to speak about the artistes and the film,” he adds.
