Kajal Aggarwal seriously considering the remake of Queen

Kajal reveals that her special appearance in Janatha Garage was only due to the equation she shares with Jr NTR.

Kajal Aggarwal’s career is going places. While she has three formidable releases in Telugu and Tamil in the next few months, the actress has also been in the news for having signed the Tamil remake of the Kangana starrer, Queen, for which she is expected to start shooting in August.

When contacted, Kajal confirmed that she was in talks with the makers and admitted to being excited about it. “I am yet to sign on the dotted line but talks are definitely in progress. I watched the original film and loved it. It was a sweet, innocent film and the storyline touched so many people. Also, it is extremely relevant to the contemporary woman in society. I am seriously considering doing this film. Let’s see how it goes,” she says.

The actress is happy with the exciting opportunities that are coming her way but maintains that she is always inspired by content-driven roles. “It is great to be a part of a successful film but I prefer to do a film that helps me prove my mettle in acting,” she says.

Her big upcoming releases are actor Vijay’s untitled next, Vivegam with Ajith in Tamil and Nene Raju Nene Mantri with Rana Daggubati in Telugu. She feels that the latter two films will complement her acting prowess to the hilt. “These are the kind of roles I have always wanted to do. Both films have me playing strong characters,” she shares.

Kajal admits to being choosy about the kind of roles that she does. Following her sensational dance number in Junior NTR’s Janatha Garage, Kajal is said to have received several similar dance offers, but she refused all of them, including one in a leading Hindi film, because she did not see them making any significant impact on her career.

“Frankly, it all depends on how relevant the dance number is and how aesthetically it will be shot, besides me really wanting to do it. I usually don’t do such numbers but did Janata Garage because of the equation I share with Tarak,” she says, adding that she is eager to go the extra mile to do roles that offer substance. “They should be inspiring and challenging,” she says.
