Pawan Kalyan's solo political innings
All eyes are on Jana Sena Party (JSP) leader Pawan Kalyan after he bashed the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) at a public meeting recently. In a first, the actor-turned-politician openly criticised his ally, the TDP, for corrupt practices, dragging the Chief Minister’s name into the picture as well.
And apparently, in the upcoming elections, the actor has decided to stand alone, without forming allies with any other party. A source close to PK says, “Everyone is thinking that he has suddenly taken a U-turn, but it is not so. He met CM Chandrababu Naidu and warned him about issues like corruption in his government. PK voluntarily took up the Uddanam kidney disease case, but the government didn’t respond in that matter either. He also wasn’t vocal on the note-to-vote issue, believing that the CM may notice and take action. But he didn’t take any issues seriously, which is when Pawan Kalyan decided to go against the TDP.”
Further, the source adds, “He will stand alone in the coming elections and he knows that he will get good support from Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam and the two Godavari districts. He is confident that he will get a good number of seats and whoever wants to form a coalition, should get his support.”
The actor is now busy concentrating on the constituency wise issues and the right persons to choose for his party. “He is also not leaving the Special Status Issue and he will fight for that,” added the source.
