Salaar needs to beat Pushpa in North India?

With the Hindi dubbing rights of ‘Salaar Chapter 1-Ceasefire’ sold for a whopping Rs 120 cores, reigning star Prabhas has a task on hand. Even though the action adventure has generated loads of hype across India, it has to run for many weeks to collect a record breaking amount. “Actually, ‘Puspha The Rise’ collected more than Rs 150 crores gross in North India and ‘Salaar’ has to surpass it to show that Prabhas is a big crowd-puller in Hindi heartland,” says a Hindi distributor and adds, “Allu Arjun’s swag and performance besides wonderful songs helped 'Pushpa’ to sustain in theatres for two or three weeks and eventually it could garner record breaking collections in North,” he adds.

While Prabhas also had hits like ‘Sahoo’ in Hindi market but his last release ‘Adipurush’ couldn’t spin box office magic. “Saaho’ was a bigger hit among Hindi viewers but ‘Adipurush’ drew good openings but couldn’t remain in theatres after a week. Prabhas has touched Rs 80 to 90 crores in North India but this time he has to spin box office magic and retain his stardom among Hindi followers. “Saaho’ got him closer to Hindi-speaking viewers after ‘Bahubali’ and now he has to regain his winning streak and outwit his Telugu rivals in Hindi zone,” he points out.

The action film directed by Prashant Neel is much-awaited and even the makers of Hindi film ‘Dunki’ are worried a bit. “Prabhas has an edge now and he has to beat records of Hindi and Telugu films with his action adventure and make more Rs 200 crore to retain his pan-India status,” he concludes.
