After a long hiatus, popular Telugu producer Shyam Prasad Reddy who made blockbuster films like "Ankusam," "Ammoru," and "Arundhati," is working on a new script to bounce back into the reckoning. "Shyam Prasad Reddy has begun work on his script and it would go on floors next year, " says a source and adds, "Shyam took a long break from films since he wasn't getting exciting story ideas. He focused on small screen alongwith his daughter and tasted success with programs like "Jabardast."
He was the brain behind blockbuster movies like "Ankusam" which revived interest for cop stories in 1980s.."He also resurrected socio fantasies with "Ammoru" starring Soundarya and Suresh and it revolved around black magic. He roped in glam actress Ramya Krishna to play goddess in the film and it paid off," he points out.
Later, he joined hands with Megastar Chiranjeevi for "Anji" but it didn't live up to high expectations and crashed at the box office.. "Shyam bounced back with a bang with smashing hit "Arundhati" featuring Anushka Shetty in 2009 and it reintroduced true blue horror flicks in Tollywood. It made waves in Tamil Nadu and other states, " he adds.
With supernatural thrillers like Virupaksha and Maa Oori Polimeru 2 minting money at the box office, Shyam would like to do a horror thriller.."He would be surely missing his favourite director Kodi Ramakrishna who made many of his films but he is no more now. He may bring in an upcoming director to dish out more films in the days to come, he concludes.
