While there has been a lot of speculation about a possible sequel to the 2007 film Dhee, there was never any confirmation – but now, actor Vishnu Manchu has made an announcement on social media regarding his next film with Sreenu Vaitla, setting off a buzz again.
While the actor did not say anything about the sequel, that’s the conclusion that is being drawn by fans.
On Friday, Vishnu revealed that an announcement about his next film with director Sreenu Vaitla would be made on November 23 to coincide with the actor’s birthday. He wrote, “Dhee one of the fav film for thousands of movie lovers. This film was a game changer for the entire cast and crew. It gave rise to a whole new spate of movies at that time. What could be better than ‘Dhee’?”
Fans immediately got excited, wondering if a sequel to Dhee was about to be announced.
Meanwhile, Sreenu Vaitla’s last film, Amar Akbar Anthony, starring Ravi Teja and Ileana D’ Cruz, bombed at the box office. The director is hoping that the Dhee sequel would give him a boost.
