Sye Raa director Surender Reddy (Suri) has landed in a controversy. The hullabaloo revolves around his past comments on Jr NTR’s manager regarding his 2006-film, Ashok. A video clipping of the director giving an interview to a TV channel has gone viral on social media. In the video, he is heard saying that Jr NTR’s manager Sukumar had emotionally blackmailed him to do the film Ashok with Jr NTR.
“After the success of my debut film Athanokkade, I met Prabhas to do a film. But Jr NTR’s manager Sukumar emotionally blackmailed me to do a film with Jr NTR. He was after me and finally I did Ashok,” says Surender Reddy. With the video going viral, Jr NTR fans have started trolling the director for his remarks, wondering how it could have been an emotional blackmail, when out of nine movies, which Surender Reddy has made, five of them had Jr NTR in it.
One fan, Prudhvi, questioned on Twitter, asking, “You approached NTR for 5 films including Athanokkade, Ashok, Kick, Oosarevelli, Kick2 Tesina 9. Understandable that you were blackmailed into doing Ashoka, but what made you take up the rest of the movies? (sic).”
