The shooting of Kangana Ranaut-starrer Thalaivi — a biopic on the late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa — has begun, and while the film already has an ensemble cast, the makers are now planning to rope in Jr NTR for an extended cameo.
Interestingly, Sr NTR played a significant part in Jayalalithaa’s cinematic career as both starred together in several yesteryear films. With the makers wanting to show Sr NTR in a cameo in Thalaivi, and Jr NTR bearing a strong resemblance to his grandfather in terms of looks, they are convinced that he would be a perfect fit for the role.
A source informs, “Efforts to rope in Jr NTR have already been initiated by director A.L.Vijay and producer Vishnu Induri. Although too premature to comment, things look positive,” adding that the makers are also keen to approach Balakrishna (Sr NTR’s son) to reprise his father in the trilingual film, which will be made in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil.
