A new ray of hope
The entertainment industry sees many youngsters trying to make it big but only a few are successful. Rajath Krishna is one of the few who got the opportunity to play the lead role Vijayendra Prasad’s recently released Srivalli. The scientific thriller has received mixed reviews, which Rajath says he is aware of. He adds, “It’s a good concept and also a screenplay-based film with gripping narration.”
Rajath is quite happy with his role in the film. “There are grey shades in my role and I had to show all variations,” he mentions. Hailing from Madanapalle, Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh, Rajath completed his graduation from Gokaraju Rangaraju Engineering College in Hyderabad. His father is a high court lawyer. Recalling how he got selected for the film, he says, “I learnt acting from Satyanand master and then gave my portfolio to several production houses. Vijayendra Prasad sir saw my pictures and called me for an audition.”
Rajath, who has also trained in kickboxing, says that he was initially scared to talk to Vijayendra because of his age. “But the level of comfort he provides made me feel like he was of my age. From then on, I used to talk to him freely,” says Rajath, who believes that the director is his biggest inspiration. “He is a senior who has tasted many successes. Baahubali has taken him to another level. He has worked with many superstars but is still trying to learn something new, which is a great thing in him,” the actor adds.
A hard-core fan of Chiranjeevi, Rajath is now open to all kinds of roles. “I want to register myself as an actor, whether it’s a lead or a negative role,” he says. However, the actor has recently signed a web series which is being directed by Chaitanya. “The story is very interesting as it is a periodic one and it’s definitely something new among the Telugu web series,” says Rajath.
