Maidan will make every Indian proud: Keerthy Suresh
After winning the National Award for Best Actress for her stunning portrayal of legendary actress Savitri in Mahanati, Keerthy Suresh will soon be making her Bollywood debut with a film titled Maidan that stars Ajay Devgn.
Apparently, the period drama is set between 1952 and 1962, a decade that is considered to be the golden era of Indian football. The sports drama depicts the story of a legendary coach named Syed Abdul Rahim (played by Ajay Devgn).
While Keerthy remains tight-lipped about her role, she will likely be playing the wife of Syed Abdul Rahim.
“I am not supposed to talk about my role, but all I can say is that I am very happy to be part of such an untold and gripping story,” she states, adding, “It is a film that will make every Indian proud; it will be an emotional ride that caters to all sections of the audience.”
The film, which commenced shooting on Monday, will be directed by Amit Sharma of Badhaai Ho fame and produced by Boney Kapoor.
