Rakul Preet Singh approached to bring Sridevi alive on screen in NTR biopic

The buzz surrounding the NTR biopic doesn’t seem to subside. Just a few days after the news of Vidya Balan being cast in the film came out, it turns out Dhruva actress Rakul Preet Singh too may be featured in the film. What’s interesting is that Rakul has been asked to reprise the role of late actress Sridevi.

Director Krish wants to emphasise how the late actress was a crucial part of NTR’s life. Sridevi, as a teenager, was paired opposite NTR in nearly 14 films including super hits like Vetagaadu, Bobbili Puli, Justice Chowdhary, Kondaveeti Simham, etc.

But nothing’s been set in stone yet. “Rakul was approached for the role and the actress was elated to be part of the project. However, the date clash could be a problem. But things are still in the nascent stage and it’s premature to comment,” informs a source.

Rakul’s a busy bee these days. The actress has two projects each in Telugu and Tamil, apart from working in a Bollywood film. So we’ll just have to wait and see if she accepts the role in the biopic.
