Dasarath trashes plagiarism claim

The director hits back by giving proof that the film's script was registered way before the novel released.

Mr Perfect, directed by Dasarath, is embroiled in a plagiarism controversy. Novelist Shyamala Rani has claimed that the film produced by Dil Raju was inspired by her novel Na Manasu Korindi Ninne. But the director has rubbished her claim. The team has hit out against her by giving proof that the film’s script was locked and registered way before her novel even released.

Speaking on the same, Dasarath shares, “In general, no one really saves the registration copy of a film, especially one that released over six years ago. However, we were lucky enough to have the copy, to prove that the registration happened before the release of the film. We wouldn’t be able to prove this otherwise.”

Even though Mr Perfect released in 2010, the film’s story was registered by the director and producer in December, 2008. In fact, the matter is being discussed with the Writer’s Union for over six months now.

Shares Dasarath, “The scenario has been explained to her. But she is adamant and went ahead and launched a police complaint. But from our end, everything is clear.”
