When actress Nandita Swetha was approached for a pivotal role in Rajasekhar’s forthcoming film Kalki, she had no idea that she would have to unlearn a few things. Reportedly, despite being as energetic and chatty as she is, playing a composed and fairly intense role wasn’t challenging for the actress. “I play a Muslim girl. I’ll be seen sporting burqas throughout the film. The role requires me to be expressive and mostly communicate with my eyes, which is one of the reasons I took it up. I initially assumed that unlearning would be a challenge but honestly, it was fun. In fact, I fell in love with the idea of projecting myself differently on the screen,” she explained. The Prema Katha Chitram star found the experience to be an enlightening one. “I have played glamorous roles before, but this one gave me the opportunity to explore a whole new dimension as an actor,” shares Nandita, who will be seen as a cop in her next film, IPC 376, directed by Ramkumar Subbaraman. Ï am currently training rigorously for the role and I am looking forward to the shooting.
