How does one revive flailing box-office outings? Get fans of other actors to watch your films. This seems to be Tollywood’s new game-plan, what with superstars now seen attending filmy dos of each other. In Hyderabad, recently, Jr NTR attended the pre-release event of superstar Mahesh Babu’s upcoming film. Just a few days ago, Chiranjeevi attended the shooting of Allu Arjun’s upcoming film. Though it is a family event, this was the first time that Pawan Kalyan praised Ram Charan’s film and even attended the success meet. This apparently has translated into revenue at the box-office.

If one recalls, Jr NTR at the time of his Jai Lava Kusa gave critics a tongue-lashing for his film’s poor rating. The next day, when Mahesh, at an event to promote his film Spyder, was asked to comment about Jr NTR berating his critics, he had said if the film was bad, they should write that it was bad. Jr NTR fans then took it as a criticism of their idol and when Spyder did not do well, they trolled the film and the star too.

Keeping this fiasco in mind, Mahesh extended an olive branch to Jr NTR and invited him to his film’s pre-release function. “There are only five to six top heroes in the industry and they do one film a year. We are all good and it is up to the fans to change,” Mahesh said at the event. He added that if those big stars’ films do well at the box-office the industry, too, will do well. He may have been indirectly sending a message to Jr NTR fans that he needed their support for his upcoming film, which is going to have a never-seen-before release and is predicted to grab revenues in the first three days.

Interestingly, Jr NTR didn’t talk about the fans, but said, “You all call him Superstar or Prince, but I call him Mahesh Anna. I wish that this film creates records.” This is definitely a huge business strategy for Tollywood’s superstars. Mahesh passed on the favour by tweeting about Ram Charan’s Rangasthalam and praised it highly. The coming days are sure to see some more interesting happenings between Tollywood’s superstars.
