A low-key Birthday for Jayasudha
Popular actress Jayasudha, one of the finest actresses of Telugu cinema, turned 60 on Monday, and rang her birthday in her characteristic low-key way. The senior actress who ruled the silver screen as female lead for a few decades, and is now a character artiste, says she never celebrates her birthday in a big way.
Revealing that she always preferred to celebrate the event with members of her family, Jayasudha says, “I never celebrate my birthday in a big way and do it in a low profile (way). I just want to be with my family members on that day.” Asked whether she felt old at attaining the milestone, she replies, “No, I never feel like I have become old, but I am health conscious and feel I have to take care of my health properly.” The only actress to continue acting after debuting at age 13, Jayasudha shares, “I never stopped acting, and even now I get offers, a few of which I reject. I accept films that I like, and I don’t want to sign just to get work.”
She is playing the role of Mahesh Babu’s mother in the upcoming film Maharshi. “Apart from that, I have signed two more films,” she says.
Speaking on her future plans, Jayasudha says, “I like to travel and in the future I want to explore it.” Observing that both her sons are doing well with their individual work, she adds, “I never put pressure on them for anything and they know what they are doing.”As for plans for the sons marriage, she quips, “They are not in hurry, and even I am not!”
