Mehreen hopes dashed with amateurish Spark?

Young actress Mehreen Pirzada was pinning high hopes on her latest release 'Spark’ with newcomer Vikrant but the poorly-made thriller is bound to impact her career a bit. She plays a girl who dreams about a boy who finally arrives near her doorstep. “It was the usual lover girl role but Mehreen performance goes unnoticed due to insipid narration,” says a source and adds, “She should avoid such films, since working with debutants comes along with its own baggage of risks,” he informs.

Actually, Mehreen claimed that she was happy to work with Vikrant who also directed the film. “I am keenly looking forward to this exciting film since it is quite special to me,” she had said prior to release. She would have thought the film could rock the box office and give her career a much-need filip. Now, she would be shocked a bit since the film has failed to set the box office on fire in Telugu states and panned by critics.

She was a sought-after heroine after hits like ‘Mahanubhavudu’, ‘Raja The Great’ and ‘F2’ in Tollywood and also worked with Tamil star Dhanush in ‘Pataas’. Barring her fiasco with the producer of ‘Ashwathama’ her career was going on the right track in Tollywood. “But flops like ‘Chanakya’ and “‘Entha Manchivadavura’ dented her ratings in Tollywood," adds a source.

Meanwhile, she also did some Tamil and Punjabi films to keep her career going, but now that she returns to Tollywood, she has to cash in on her previous success to bag plum offers. "She is pretty looking and talented, one good offer opposite a star, will set things right for her," he concludes.
