Telugu films are now expanding, says Tamannah Bhatia
Tamannah’s latest film is Next Enti and it is directed by Kunal Kohli. The actress says that she is proud to be a part of Telugu cinema. She narrates a recent interaction with a co-passenger, who asked her if she was an actress? “I said, ‘Yes, and I am doing Telugu films.’ He then asked me which film have I done. To which I replied, Baahubali. He immediately said that Telugu cinema was now expanding. And yes, it is true that Telugu films are now changing Indian cinema,” says Tamannah.
The actress talks about the new kinds of Telugu films being made today. “Whether it’s Arjun Reddy, RX 100 or Goodachari, everyone is watching Telugu cinema. I am proud of Telugu, though I was born in Mumbai. I have learnt everything here in the Telugu industry. It’s not just about the language, I started my life here,” she says. The actress welcomed director Kunal Kohli to the Telugu industry, saying, “I am a huge fan of yours and your films Fanaa and Hum Tum are textbooks for us. After watching those films, I wanted to become an actress. Now I am working with you, and it’s great to work with you.”
About her latest role, she reveals that it almost mirrors her real life. “The dialogues in this film are real and I have said those words in real life at some point of time. This is the first time, I am playing a character which feels like myself,” she says.
Tamannah has also dubbed for herself in Telugu for the first time with this film. Going by the trailer, Next Enti looks like a romantic entertainer.
