While Tollywood has witnessed the release of several films in the family drama genre, actor Ram Pothineni says that his forthcoming film, Hello Guru Prema Kosame, which will release on October 18, will explore an unfamiliar territory. “We tried to touch upon certain points that have not been addressed in the genre of family drama, and I think that’s our USP,” shares Ram, adding, “The team had to work for three months extensively before coming up with a gripping narrative that would strike a chord with all audiences.”
The Trinadha Rao Nakkina directorial features Ram as a man from a small town who comes to the city. “The rustic background will be only for a brief time to establish that I come from a small town. But I become a software engineer as the narrative progresses, and amid drama and fun, the plot will unfold.”
While the director’s earlier films were comedies for the masses, Ram adds that Hello Guru Prema Kosame will be high on emotions. “We ensured that the comedy would be situational and not forced. Since this is a story-driven film, we wanted to bring out the true emotions of the three principal characters — me, Anupama Parameswaran and Prakash Raj.”
