Tollywood's reverence for Telangana

From Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna to Allu Arjun and Nani, most actors planted a tree at their home or a place in the city.

Soon after the Telangana government announced the Haritha Haaram project recently, the Telugu Film Industry was quick to act, with most actors — big and small — expressing their solidarity to the initiative.

From Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna to Allu Arjun and Nani, most actors planted a tree at their home or a place in the city. Now, the Andhra Pradesh government has personally invited each member of the film industry to join the ongoing Pushakarams. However, other than Nandamuri Balakrishna, who is also a TDP MLA, none of the actors have responded to the invitation so far.

“As Tollywood functions from Hyderabad and almost everyone in the industry lives there, they want their property to be more secure. That’s why they are quick to act whenever the TRS government announces any project,” says a source from the industry. There have been discussions in the film industry about why celebrities were not responding to the government’s invite.
