I wanted to be a full-time actress: Avantika Mishra
Avantika Mishra is thrilled about her upcoming release Vaisakham. “This film is commercial and it’s special to me as it’s my second film,” says the actress.
Avantika plays Bhanumathi, an ambitious girl who is rooted in her values. “The character is strong and very close to her father. I can relate to this as I am also close to my father,” reveals Avantika.
After her first film Maya, it didn’t seem as though she would continue acting. “I played state-level badminton and didn’t think I would become an actor. But somehow, I made my way into this world of glamour,” says Avantika, the daughter of an air force officer, who now wants to be a full-time actress.
It was the character that piqued her interest in the romantic drama. “When director Jaya saw my photos, she called me for a photo shoot. I immediately got selected for the film. It’s not just the glamour part of the role I liked, but she (Bhanumathi) has a very emotional side too,” Avantika says.
All praise for her co-star Harish, Avantika says he is a helpful person and a good actor. Avantika also manages to speak Telugu. “I understand the language well and I am picking it up fast,” she says.
The actress is a trained Kathak dancer. But she also wnjoys fast numbers and folk songs. “I learnt those dances after coming into films. I should thank Sekhar master for teaching me,” she smiles.
