On Sunday, top producer, Allu Aravind, felicitated Shatamanam Bhavati producer, Dil Raju, director Satish Vegesna, and lead actor Sarwanand, as the film won a National Award. Everyone appreciated his gesture, calling it a sportive move. Chiranjeevi, the chief guest, attended along with other actors like Allu Arjun and Nandamuri Kalyan Ram. However, his partiality is now being much talked about in the industry.
“There is Pelli Choopulu, which also won the National Award and Allu Aravind and his team completely neglected it. They didn’t even mention the name,” says a source, not willing to be named. A big producer like Allu Aravind appreciating a small film like Pelli Choopulu could be encouraging for budding film directors and technicians. But, he chose to felicitate only Dil Raju, which has become a huge talking point in the industry. Interestingly, Pelli Choopulu is a small film and even the director and other team members are not known when compared to big producers like Dil Raju and his team.
