Dr B.R. Shetty, a billionaire businessman from UAE, has announced that he will make a film, on the epic Mahabharata. In a press release, the businessman has also announced that it will be directed by adman V.A. Shrikumar who has worked on several ads including a very recent one for a jewellery brand which featured Nagarjuna, Mohanlal, Amitabh Bachchan and others.
According to the release, Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has been roped in for the character of Bheema, and they will finalise the rest of the cast soon. Actors will be roped in from across the various film industries in the country, and the makers plan to release the film in English, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada and other Indian and foreign languages.
The film will be based on the Malayalam novel, Randamoozham, written by M.T. Vasudevan Nair. Mohanlal and writer Vasudevan have officially come on board and have expressed that it is a great project. Mohanlal was suggested by the writer himself, and the actor says that he is honoured to be part of this great epic.
Writer Vasudevan says that he welcomes B.R. Shetty to invest Rs1,000 crore on this project, which will be an epic one for the coming generations.Interestingly, Telugu director, S.S. Rajamouli, has expressed interest that he wants to make a film on Mahabharata and mentioned about the same at several press briefings recently.Well, this news might come as a shocker to Rajamouli!
