Movie Artiste Association split turns murkier!

The newly elected MAA President Naresh alleges that the former President Sivaji Raja isn’t allowing him to take his oath till March 31.

Everybody remembers the war that took place last year between the former MAA President, Sivaji Raja, and the then General Secretary and the newly elected MAA President, Naresh. Unfortunately, the ugly split seems to have turned murkier.

While the new President Naresh had been making arrangements to conduct the swearing-in ceremony of his panel on March 22, he revealed that the ex-President has warned him against taking the oath before March 31, i.e., till his last day in office as the MAA President.

At a press conference on Saturday, Naresh said, “We were planning to conduct the ceremony on March 22nd because it’s an auspicious day, after which the next one, the Ugadi festival, comes much later. Also, there’s a lot of paperwork to be completed with respect to MAA’s pension and welfare schemes and insurance policies. It is very unfortunate that Mr Sivaji Raja said that he will move the court if we conduct the ceremony before March 31st.” Naresh further added that since several members’ insurance policies had expired and have to be renewed, his panel will not be responsible for any unforeseen repercussions given the situation.

On a concluding note, Naresh explained, “It is morally incorrect on Sivaji Raja’s part to ask me not to take the oath. However, with regards to the swearing-in ceremony, we are happy to follow the instructions of the elders from the MAA and the film industry.” The new panel members Jeevitha and Rajasekhar were also present in the meeting.
