Nandamuri Balakrishna has been very stressed lately. His film NTR: Kathanayakudu, which is based on the life of his father later N.T. Rama Rao, has failed miserably at the box-office. This failure has had an agonising impact on the actor’s morale and he no more seems excited about the release of the sequel of the film. Additionally, controversial director Ram Gopal Varma’s film Lakshmi’s NTR is set to release soon. The trailer of the film is out already and in a short span of time, it has earned a whopping 5.7 million views. If the film performs well, actor Balayya’s career and ego will take a big hit. Director Krish, however, is putting his best into making the sequel.
“Krish is aware that the first part did not do well, so he is trying to add a few attention-grabbing elements in the sequel in order to appeal to their audience,” says a source.
Balakrishna also seems extremely worried about where his political career is headed. The film Yatra released recently and is based on late Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy’s marathon walk. Though there is no direct mention of Chandrababu in the film, the director has portrayed the Telugu Desam Party and Chandrababu in a negative light. Hence, this film may promote Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s cause in the coming elections. The makers of this film also happen to be sympathisers of Jagan, says a source.
RGV’s Lakshmi’s NTR, too, is a political drama that is set to release in April, which is also when the elections are scheduled to be conducted. In this film, too, RGV has not directly mentioned Chandrababu’s name, but it’s an obvious correlation that audiences can make. The producer of this film, Rakesh Reddy, is also a close friend of Jagan. RGV also tweeted a picture of Rakesh with Jagan.
And, adding to the stress are people who saw NTR Kathanayakudu, Part 1, and commented, “Balakrishna has portrayed NTR in a positive light, which has left us wondering why all his kids left him alone in the last days of life.” This is definitely a big negative for Balakrishna’s film, which is releasing next week, and we can’t wait to find out which one does better!...
