Nandamuri Balakrishna opts for a faction film

Balakrishna, who created the trend of faction films with movies such as Samarasimha Reddy and Narasimha Naidu, is back at it.

Nandamuri Balakrishna recently announced that he will be making a biopic of his father, the late NTR. But before this film, the actor has decided to do a commercial film directed by K.S. Ravi Kumar. “After hearing many scripts, the actor finally accepted KS Ravi Kumar’s subject as it is based on factional politics and is an entertainer,” says the source.

Balakrishna, who created the trend of faction films with movies such as Samarasimha Reddy and Narasimha Naidu, is back at it. Interestingly, M. Ratnam, who wrote the dialogues for those two films, has been roped in as the dialogue writer for this project too, while C. Kalyan will be producing the film.

Director K.S. Ravikumar, who earlier worked with top actors such as Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan and Chiranjeevi, is joining hands with Balakrishna for the first time. “The makers are now searching for the female lead and Shriya Saran’s name is doing the rounds,” adds the source.
