Tollywood actor Bhushan all set for B-Town debut
Syed Abid Bhushan, the grandson of the popular actor Nagabhushanam, is making his Bollywood debut. Bhushan had acted in a few Telugu films earlier but they had not done well. He will now be seen in the Hindi film Rhythm, playing a negative role.
“Cinematographer Johny Lal is my uncle and I approached the makers through him. Actually they selected artistes from different states, I don’t know why,” he says. The film is releasing this Friday.
While the lead actor in the film is from Pakistan, the others artistes are from different Indian states.
“I tried working in Tollywood but went unnoticed as I didn’t get any good break. I got a good role in Intinta Annamayya, but that film didn’t release,” says Bhushan.
When asked about his unique name, Syed Abid Bhushan, he says that his mother is a Hindu and his father a Muslim. They had a love marriage. “That’s why they named me Syed Abid Bhushan… My father Meer is a popular cinematographer and director. He has also directed many TV serials.”
“My father is a devotee of Lord Shiva and has made many devotional serials,” he says, adding, “My parents always tell me to be a good human being and I respect all religions.”
“But my father never recommended me for any film project. He told me that I should get opportunities on my own and to prove myself through hard work,” he says. That’s the reason his parents asked him to complete his education first. “I also worked in an MNC for a short period.”
He was in Class VII when his grandfather passed away. “I went with him to Saradhi Studios on a few occasions,” he says.
“I didn’t interact with him much but maybe I have his genes; I am not afraid of the camera.”
The young actor has signed another Hindi film. Yashwardhan, who has worked with Anurag Kashyap, is directing the film. “It’s a love story. I play a guy who doesn’t like India and is a spoiled brat,” he says.
Talking about his future in Tollywood, he says, “Here it all depends on luck. If one good break comes, then everything will change.”
He adds that he got to know that his film Intinta Annamayya will release soon.
“I had pinned so much hope on that film. But I am still ready to do any role, but it should be a prominent one.”
