Nandamuri Balakrishna’s film Ruler will hit the screens on Friday, and the actor is confident of its success. At the recent pre-release function at Visakhapatnam, the actor said, “I wanted to do a film with a farm backdrop, but that didn’t happen for some reason. But my wish to showcase a farmer’s point of view has come true with Ruler.”
Balakrishna and director Krishna Vamsi had approached Amitabh Bachchan for an important role in a film around a farmer, but Bachchan declined, and the film didn’t get off the discussion stage. “I met a few people to do the film Rythu, but couldn’t make it happen. But now this film happened,” says Balakrishna.
“I have a special bond with Visakhapatnam city because most of my film shootings happened here,” the actor said. Talking of his parents, he said he was lucky to have parents like them. “My father did many experiments and I follow him whether in films or politics.”
