The makers of Yatra, the biopic on former AP CM, Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, have now officially announced that they will release the film on February 8. They have been mulling over the release date for quite a while now. Interestingly, Yatra will now take head-on another biopic titled NTR, which is based on former AP CM and legendary actor N.T. Rama Rao.
Apparently, the second part of NTR biopic, titled Mahanayakudu, will hit the screens in the first week in February. Since elections of Andhra Pradesh are slated for April, it’ll be interesting to see the impact these two biopics can make. Mollywood star, Mammootty, is reprising YSR’s role in the film, which is touted to be a tribute to YSR’s iconic padayatra and his messiah-like popularity among millions of his followers. The film, which is in post-production, is being produced by Vijay Chilla and Shashi Devireddy and directed by Mahi V. Raghav.
