Sharwanand’s latest film Ranarangam, which released on the Independence Day, seems to be raking in the numbers despite the mixed talks about the film. On its first day, Ranarangam collected nearly Rs 4.25 crore from the world over. The numbers have crossed Sharwanand’s earlier best collection, which was for Sathamanam Bhavathi.
Interestingly, tells ones of our sources, the film hadn’t had a wide overseas release as the makers had felt it was not for the overseas audience. Directed by Sudheer Varma, Ranarangam is a gangster action–drama. While the film’s unit held a success gathering on Friday in Hyderabad, we wonder if it’s too early to open the champagne yet. Because the opening numbers were from a holiday, we’d still have to wait and watch how audiences respond to it in the coming days.
