Samyuktha Hegde likes to live in the moment

Actress Samyuktha Hegde says that traveling made her knowledgeable while being adventurous made her independent

Samyuktha Hegde is recovering from COVID-19. She tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus last month, and though she has since tested negative, the actress says, “Even now I have a bit of weakness and I feel tired. I am still not able to do some stuff.”

Sharing that she lost 10 kgs during the illness, she quips, “It’s like my personality has shrunk. However, I wasn’t scared when I tested positive for Covid-19; I was always strong,” reveals the actress, whose parents too tested positive for the virus but have now recovered.

“I listened to music constantly, which helped me gain strength to recover,” says Samyuktha. She says the time spent in quarantine gave her an opportunity to introspect — get to know herself, and what she wants to do in life. Samyuktha, who believes that everything happens for a reason, stressed that, “This pandemic made everyone value home.”

The MTV Roadies (Season 15) contestant is an adventure junkie and avid traveller. She says traveling made her knowledgeable while being adventurous made her independent. “Being adventurous means not stopping yourself, and sometimes not knowing what you will do next is also an adventure. So I like to live in the moment,” she says.

Talking about a recent Kayaking trip to Goa with a friend, Samyuktha says, “The experience was just insane! It’s one of the ways great ways to connect with nature. I think the best healer is nature; nothing feels better than this.”

“When 2021 started I had several plans — I wanted to tour a few countries; but all plans have been cancelled,” the actress shares. Most of her social media posts are about travel, adventure sports, and the hula hoop, a skill she discovered during the last lockdown, which has proved a stress buster.

She has an interesting anecdote to share about how she picked up hula hoop “Actually, I fell in love with the instructor and I thought the best way to impress him was to pick up the dance form,” she reveals.

“Later, I realised that the instructor broke up with his partner. I felt a bit bad. But I am still in touch with him and we discuss dance,” she says, while clarifying that they are good friends now. Samyuktha says that hula hoop dancing has helped her become a stronger woman.
