Mumbai: Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor, who is currently busy promoting the Tamil remake of the Bollywood hit movie Pink, says he owe his success to the Tamil film industry.

He says, “I’ve always been an avid film lover. Be it Tamil cinema, Malayalam cinema, Kannada cinema, Telugu cinema, Hindi cinema, or world cinema, I’ve this passion of watching films from all across the globe. Fortunately, I’ve been able to remake quite a few films which were originally made in Tamil and Telugu, I made them in Hindi and most of them were successful. So I owe a lot of my success to the South film industry, particularly Tamil industry. So it’s been a great journey so far.”

Interestingly, Sridevi wanted Ajith to be a part of this highly anticipated film. Praising Thala Ajith for his work on Nerkonda Paarvai, he adds, “Ajith has been very magnanimous, gracious, and supportive. The last time when Sridevi and I were in Chennai, we met Ajith and Ajith spoke of Pink and Sri immediately replied saying that it would be absolutely appropriate. We had seen Pink together and she felt that Ajith was the right person for the Tamil version. Because he has this persona of being a gracious person as well as he is a righteous person and the kind of respect he has for people especially women. So it made us think that he was the right choice for the role. It was good that he suggested this film and we’re happy to follow it.”

Nerkonda Paarvai will releasing in early August.
