Work has taken over everything, says Suman Ranganathan

Actress Suman Ranganath talks about her work life, her comeback film Kitty Party.

Actress Suman Ranganath is making her comeback into Telugu cinema with the film, Kitty Party, directed by Sundar Pavan. It’s been almost 18 years since her last movie Baavanachadu (2001) released. “Oh is it? That’s a long time,” she exclaimed, adding, “Well, work has taken over everything. I have been working non-stop. I am currently doing three films and a reality show. I love what I do and I don’t allow language to become a restriction.” When asked why she slowed down with her participation in Telugu cinema, Suman replied, “I honestly regret that I haven’t done much work in Telugu, but work kept coming in from the other industries and I couldn’t turn those offers down. And when you leave a city, people forget you. Besides, I did not have anybody to represent me in Telugu. Be it web series, short films, reality shows, what drives and keeps me in the groove is my work,” she added. Suman, who set foot in the film industry with Kannada cinema, went on to star in films in all the South-Indian languages and Bolly
wood, too! The actress says that she feels fortunate to be a part of Telugu cinema. “Honestly, I was a little surprised when I received this offer from Tollywood, but my portrayal in the script totally convinced me to take it up,” she said.

Elaborating on her role, she added, “I play the character of an HR manager who has a boyfriend and is in a live-in relationship with him. Beyond my role, what makes this project all the more exciting is that I’ll be working with Bhagyashree and Deepti Bhatnagar, who I have known for ages.” Interestingly, Suman is not a big fan of social media. “It’s a personal choice. I prefer to stay away from social network. However, I think I might join soon,” she signs off.

The actress has already began shooting for Kitty Party with a song recently.
