My son and I will campaign for YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, says Jayasudha
Popular senior actress Jayasudha, who was once part of the Congress party, has recently joined the YSR Congress Party along with her elder son, Nihar. “My political career started with the late Y. S. Rajasekhar Reddy garu. It was he, who inspired me to contest in the 2009 State Assembly elections from Secunderabad, where I got elected. Later, I contested from the same constituency again but lost the election. I have now decided to join his son Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s party,” she said, commenting on her re-entry into politics.
The actress, who remained passive for a few years has now, before the elections, joined the YSRCP.
“I have no hidden or personal agenda in joining YSRCP. I only to continue participating in politics, that’s all,” said the yesteryear actress. She also mentioned about her elder son’s interest in politics. “My son is pursuing studies in political science. He is going to join me in the campaign for YSRCP at the upcoming elections in Andhra Pradesh. He has joined only recently and is learning the ropes gradually.” The actress stays mostly in Secunderabad and has been in the industry for 47 years. “As an actor, I have no boundaries as I have fans from both, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. I have worked in the film industry for a long time and my hard work and dedication have earned me a fair amount of success. It is certainly not easy to work as an actress for 47 years straight,” she said, adding, “My son and I plan to start campaigning in a few days. I am confident that Jagan Mohan Reddy is going to become the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.”
