Mahesh Babu's family to visit adopted villages
Guntur: Actor Mahesh Babu’s family members will visit his ancestral Burripalem village on Thursday to start development works under smart village adoption programme. Burripalem is the native village of veteran Telugu cine hero G. Krishna and his son Mahesh Babu announced adoption of the village during Srimanthudu Telugu movie success meet last year. Mahesh’s wife, Namrata Shirodkar, son Gowtham, daughter Sitara, Mahesh’s elder sister, Padmavathi and other family members will visit Burripalem and interact with the villagers to know their problems.
The villagers are happy over the visit of Mahesh’s family members and readying to inform about the needed works for the development of Burripalem. According to the reports, Mahesh Babu is busy in the shooting of Telugu feature film Brahmotsavam. Hence, he is sending his family members to know the needs of Burripalem public. The representatives of MP Galla Jayadev’s office at Guntur have informed that the family members will reach Burripalem by 10 am and will interact with the local public and officials, besides visiting ZP high school, primary health care centre and the colonies till 1.30 pm on Thursday.
Locals P. Srinivas and others said that poor drainage and absence of purified/protected drinking water are the main problems of the village. They lamented that despite situating on 5 km distance from Tenali on the main road, Burri-palem is barred from bus service for decades. Recalling about the wor-king of Burripalem nat-ives in various countries, they hoped that Mahesh’s adoption of Burripalem will inspire NRIs and the village would switch into a smart and modern village soon. They said that the village elders have listed out the difficulties and problems of the locals and they would bring them to the notice of Mahesh’s family.
Meanwhile, Mahesh’s elder sister Ms Padmavathi, who is the wife of Guntur MP Galla Jayadev, will visit Kancharlapalem village which was adopted by her and would inaugurate various modernisation works under smart village programme.
