Exclusive: Naga Chaitanya set for Tamil debut

The film could be a bilingual considering the actor's market in Telugu.

Director Karthick Naren impressed everyone with his debut film Dhuruvangal Pathinaru, which is soon set to release as 16 in Telugu. One of the people who really liked his film was actor Naga Chaitanya, and Karthick also narrated a script to him, a couple of weeks ago. And if things work out well for them both, this could mark Chai’s debut in the Tamil film industry.

This film will be completely different from the director’s first film and will give Chaitanya scope to perform. “The actor will have a full-fledged role but will not be the only main character in the film as the story requires other actors too. It will be a multi-starrer and the actors will have to give their best in terms of performance,” reveals a source, adding that Arvind Swami has also been approached.

“Things have almost been finalised but the makers are waiting for a confirmation from the production house to make things official. For now, the film is being planned only in Tamil. However, it is possible that considering Chaitanya’s market in Telugu, the film could be made into a bilingual,” adds the source.
