96 remake zeroes in on Sharwanand!
The casting merry-go-round for the Telugu remake of Tamil film, 96, seems to be on for a while now. While producer Dil Raju bagged the film’s Telugu remake rights, the hunt for the male lead has been an ongoing exercise for a while now.
Initially, there was talk that Allu Arjun will be the lead, but later Nani’s name cropped up followed by that of Gopichand. The latest name to figure as the lead in the film is that of actor Sharwanand.
A source informs, “For the past few weeks the lead actor for the Telugu remake of 96 has been in question. Producer Dil Raju feels that Sharwanand can elevate the film’s emotional appeal with his screen presence. Since the actor was part of successful love stories earlier, he stands as an ideal choice for the filmmakers.”
C. Prem Kumar, the director who helmed the original, will also wield the megaphone for the remake version.
