Chalam’s Maidanam is one of the great works of Telugu literature. His writing is poetic, versatile, and unique and talks of relationships in a family.

"Many of the characters in this novel are realistic and in our web series, we are portraying them the same way, without diluting the essence of the characters," says Venu Udugula. The director feels that the ‘highbrow content’ of the novel has deterred filmmakers from adapting it for the silver screen so far.  "It’s not easy to make this novel as a film; it is very challenging as it needs a lot of guts and creativity. We hope that we are rejuvenating the creative energy of the industry with this web film," says the Needi Naadi Oke Katha helmer. More details will be announced soon.

Venu is directing the Rana Daggubati-Sai Pallavi starrer Virata Parvam, for which shooting is in progress.
