Sankranti brings a box office bonanza!
The Sankranti festival is a big one for Telugu cinema, as many filmmakers want to cash in on the holidays. There are now three Telugu films waiting for a Sankranti release, with Balakrishna coming out with his father NTR’s biopic, alongside Ram Charan starrer Vinaya Vidheya Rama that’s directed by Boyapat and a multi-starrer titled F2 with Venkatesh and Varun Tej that’s directed by Anil Ravipudi.
Apart from these three Telugu films, there’s also Tamil superstar Rajanikanth’s film that’s prepped for a festive release. The poster of the film that was released on Wednesday also announces the same date. It seems this Sankranti is going to be a big one. And trade pundits are expecting that these films will do business of Rs 150 to Rs 170 crore around these holidays.
Now, with Rajanikanth’s film also looking to release on the same day, the competition will be much stiffer. It will be interesting to see if Telugu producers allow the Tamil film to be released on the festival, as they had earlier decided that Telugu films will be given special preference during festive seasons.
